Life brought you here. Let’s figure out what’s next.

Something has changed — a relationship is ending, you’ve lost a loved one, or you’re facing an accumulation of hard things. I help thoughtful, reflective adults find their footing again.

Compassionate, collaborative counseling in person in Bellevue and online throughout Washington State

Sometimes, things become overwhelming, and you could use some support.

A relationship ended, or is ending. Someone you love has become distant, or has gone radio silent. You're grieving something — a person, a marriage, a version of your life you'd counted on. Or maybe nothing dramatic happened at all, and that's the confusing part: you just feel stuck, disconnected, like you've lost the thread of yourself somewhere along the way.

Whatever brought you here, you're in the right place. Things can get better. Not by pretending the hard parts aren't hard, but by facing them with someone steady beside you.

What you’re hoping for: to feel less overwhelmed, less emotionally raw, and to be more present and grounded. To have more clarity about what’s happening, and how to move forward. To feel more connected with people you care about. To find more meaning in your days, and more trust in your inner voice.

You’re not afraid to do the work—but you don’t want to do it alone.

I work with adults navigating complex relationship dynamics, loss, and big life transitions that feel too complex and too personal to navigate alone. If you find yourself going through any of the following, I'd love to help you.

  • Divorce and Breakups

  • Betrayal and Affair Recovery

  • Grief and Loss

  • Family Estrangement

  • Complicated Family Relationships

  • Big Life Transitions

Often, these are situations where there are rarely quick fixes or one-size-fits-all answers. There’s no bullet point list of what to do to heal. But I can assure you that together, we will help you find your way through, to feeling more grounded, more peaceful, more hopeful.

Have a seat,

let’s talk.

I'm Kristy Swanson, a licensed mental health counselor based in Bellevue, WA. I work with adults navigating the kind of losses that don't resolve quickly: fractured relationships, grief that feels raw, old wounds that keep showing up, unhealthy emotional patterns that have become part of the furniture.

I work best with people who are ready to slow down and go deeper. Who want real change, not just better coping skills.

I can help you with

  • Divorce and Separation

Rebuilding identity and trust after a marriage ends, including long-term relationships and later-in-life or gray divorce.

  • Betrayal and Affair Recovery

Processing the shock, grief, and identity disruption that follows infidelity, whether you decide to stay or go.

  • Grief and Loss

A loved one’s death, yes, but also the grief of lost dreams, lost health, lost roles, and the life you thought you'd have.

  • Family Estrangement

The particular pain of a child, sibling, or parent who has pulled away, and learning to live with the uncertainty.

  • When Family is Complicated

Whether the family you were born into or the one you’ve built, some of the hardest relationship work involves the people we're closest to,

  • Big Life Transitions

Finding solid ground in the midst of uncertainty and change, from empty nests and aging parents to career change or a midlife crisis.
